FS2009 teams are listed on the Registered Teams webpage.
Please make sure that your team does the following so that your team is ready to sign on at the event:
- Upload your Final Team Member Details Form
- Upload your Emergency Contact Details Form
- Bring drivers' full driving licenses to Team Sign-On
(no photocopies are required)
- Bring non EU team members Health Insurance certificates to Team Sign-On (no photocopies are required)
- Bring your IMechE membership number if you have not already included it on the Final Team Member Details Form
- Collect your team members' free t-shirts if you have provided us with the sizes that you requireThe following procedures need to be followed by all teams before the event (all forms are available on the Important Documents webpage):
Additional Team Members need to pay £25.00 +VAT per person (£28.75 in total) by 15 June 2009. Please submit payments with the Additional Team Members Form.
How to Pay for Additional Team Members:
You can pay your Registration fee by credit card. This is the quickest way to pay and the online registration form will take you through to the 'pay online' facility. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Eurocard. We do not accept American Express, Diners Club or Maestro. Please ensure that you have Microsoft Internet Browser as Firebox does not work.
If you wish to pay by cheque , please post to Fiona Edgeler, IMechE, 1 Birdcage Walk, London, SW1H 9JJ with a copy of your registration form (Please make cheques payable to “Institution of Mechanical Engineers”).
If you require an invoice , please provide a Purchase Order number on your registration form. Your place cannot be confirmed until you provide a Purchase Order number from your university on your registration form. Please note that there is a £10.00+VAT administration fee for this service. (Invoices are only available to teams based in the UK).

Reserve Teams:
As we are limited to 92 running cars in the garages, we have a Reserve List. All reserve teams will go through scrutineering, be judged and go through the dynamic events. Teams will be scored the same as all other competing teams but reserve teams will need to bring their own gazebo covering as there is not enough garage space. An 8m by 3m space will be allocated and the gazebo will need to be weighed down with concrete blocks.
Cancellation Policy:
No refund will be given if you withdraw or change class after 27 March 2009.
IMechE Awards:
IMechE is offering £20,000 in FS Awards to compete in FS2009 and other FSAE events.
Membership Requirements:
All Formula Student competitors must be a member of IMechE. Team members may also be a member of other societies such as VDI or SAE but is compulsory that all team members are an IMechE member.
Team Leaders need to ensure that all team members become IMechE members by 1 May 2009 as the process can take a while to complete due to the high demand of competitors requiring membership numbers. All membership numbers need to be quoted in the Team Members Details form by 15 June 2009. Faculty Advisors and Technicians do not need to become members.
If your team does not have a complete list of your IMechE membership numbers, please upload your Final Team Member Form with the missing numbers. Team members may provide their membership numbers when they sign-on at the event.
IMechE Affiliate Membership is FREE for all students
How to Apply for a Visa:
If you need a Visa to come to the UK competition, please send a list of all of your team members and Faculty Advisor’s names with your university details as soon as possible to Fiona Edgeler at f_edgeler@imeche.org so that an official letter can be sent to you, inviting your team to the competition. You will need to give the letter and your passports to the British Embassy in your country by April 2009 for them to give you a Visa for July 2009.
How to Ship your Car to Silverstone:

Please ensure that you double check the spelling of your team's name as this will appear in English on all future literature.
